Editor's review
With a gradually decreasing popularity of the IBM’s proprietary Lotus Notes, and a rise in the usage of MS Outlook, more and more people are shifting to the later with each passing day. And subsequently, the market is also flooded with multiple developers claiming to have the total solution for the NSF to PST migration process. One of the leading names in this regard is Convert Notes 8.1 from the publishers Convert NFS, which has quite to an extent succeeded in delivering what it had promised.
Upon being launched, Convert Notes 8.1 opens with a pretty-to-look-at interface in light blue and white, with the major controls located towards the top of the screen. The controls are really easy to use, suitable for almost everyone irrespective of their experience and expertise levels. The product specializes in converting all sorts of Notes (nsf format) database like Emails, calendars, Journals, Notes, Reminders to the Microsoft Outlook .pst format. The supported NSF and Microsoft Outlook versions include NSF v8.5, 8.0, 7.0, 6.5, 6.0 & 5.0 and MS Outlook 97, 98, 2000 along with Outlook XP, 2003, 2007, 2010 respectively. It also offers you the option of converting either single, or Multiple Lotus Notes Files at a given time. And not only that, it can also convert password protected Lotus files into PST format. Thanks to the step by step guidance provided by the software, users will hardly find any difficulties in migrating to the MS Outlook format.
All in all, it is fair to say that Convert Notes 8.1 is perfect in what it does. However, Convert NFS could have been a bit more flexible in lowering the price of the product to some extent. It gets a score of four in our 5-point rating system.
